On February 13, 2025, students of the 12th "A" and 12th "B" grades from the "Mihail Sadoveanu" Theoretical High from Chisinau made an educational visit to the Institute of Zoology, Moldova State University.

On February 7, 2025, the 5th grade "D" pupils from the Mihai Viteazul Theoretical High School from Chișinău visited the Institute of Zoology of the Moldova State University. The main goal of this activity was to enrich the students' knowledge in the field of zoology and provide them with a practical experience related to scientific research in this area.

The Section of Live Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM) organised the round table with international participation „Water quality in the aquatic ecosystems” on 28 January 2025.

Event was led by the President of ASM, Academician Ion Tighineanu, and the Vice President of the Section of Live Sciences, Academician Ion Toderaș. The round table took place in a hybrid format, with physical presence in the Small Hall of the ASM and online, on the ZOOM communication platform.

The monograph „Biological properties of some synthetic and natural compounds. Correlation of anticancer and antioxidant activities”, authors – Dr. Olga GARBUZ, Academician Ion TODERAȘ, Academician Aurelian GULEA, contains important original data on the anticancer and antioxidant activities of synthetic materials, including organic compounds, ligands, coordination compounds, and natural products such as bee products. Particular emphasis is placed on mechanisms of action.

Six researchers of the Institute of Zoology, Moldova State University, have been distinguished by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova during 2024 for their considerable contribution to the development of fundamental and applied research in such fields as zoology, parasitology and aquatic ecology:

On 6-9 November 2024, the researchers of the Institute of Zoology participated in the 11th edition of the International Congress of Zoology (ZoologyCon 2024) organized by the "Grigore Antipa" Museum in collaboration with the Romanian Academy and the University of Bucharest. On 7-8 November 2024, the researchers of the Institute of Zoology participated in a series of events, organized by the Moldova State University with the aim to highlight the scientific results and, at the same time, to mark the World Science Day for Peace and Development, celebrated annually on 10 November.

Celebration started with an exhibition, at which the Institute of Zoology presented a series of works published during the last years and awards obtained at the invention and book exhibitions.

The 3rd edition of the EXCELLENT IDEA International Exhibition of Innovation and Technological Transfer was held between September 20-21, 2024, the role of organizers being fulfilled by the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova and the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy „Nicolae Testemițanu” from the Republic of Moldova.
