World Science Day for Peace and Development 2022

On 10 November 2022, the scientific community from the Republic of Moldova marked the World Science Day for Peace and Development, which over time turned into a professional day for workers in the field of research and innovation.

The theme of the 2022 edition, proposed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), was "Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development".

The Institute of Zoology participated both in the festivity organized by the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova and in that organized by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. During the exhibitions held on this occasion, the books published in 2020-2023 and a series of works awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals at the 2022 invention exhibitions (the International Exhibition of Innovation and Technological Transfer Excellent Idea, 21-23 September 2022, Chisinau; the International Exhibition of Inventions and Innovations "Traian Vuia", the 8th edition, 8-10 October 2022, Timisoara; the International Exhibition of Research, Innovations and Inventions PRO INVENT, the 20th edition, 26-28 October 2022, Cluj-Napoca) have been shown. All this together reflects the research directions of the institute and the ways of capitalizing on the obtained scientific results.

In a solemn atmosphere, professor Laurenția Ungureanu, doctor habilitate in biological sciences, director of the Institute of Zoology, was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Education and Research as a sign of high gratitude and appreciation of the prodigious scientific activity, for dedication, devotion and perseverance in promoting and implementing research results.
