On 17 May 2023, the Institute of Zoology took part in an event dedicated to the celebration of the Europe Day, namely the University European City, organized by the Moldova State University under the topic "European Union - Republic of Moldova: stronger together!".
Along the other research institutes and faculties of the MSU, the Institute of Zoology presented the main results obtained within the projects carried out in recent years and funded by the European Union:
- 2 SOFT/1.2/47 Team up for healthy fish in aquaculture systems of the Prut river basin – TeamUp HealthyFish/ EU Joint Operational Program Romania-Republic of Moldova 2014-2020;
- eMS BSB 165 Creating a system of innovative transboundary monitoring of the Black Sea river ecosystems transformation under impacts of hydropower development and climate change – HydroEcoNex/EU Joint Operational Program Black Sea Basin 2014-2020;
- eMS BSB 27 Black Sea Basin interdisciplinary cooperation network for sustainable joint monitoring of environmental toxicants migration, improved evaluation of ecological state and human health impact of harmful substances, and public exposure – MONITOX/ EU Joint Operational Program Black Sea Basin 2014-2020;
- MIS ETC 1676 Cross-border interdisciplinary cooperation for the prevention of natural disasters and mitigation of environmental pollution in Lower Danube Euroregion –INPOLDE/ EU Joint Operational Program Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova 2007-2013.
Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of Moldova were also present at the event - the ambassador of Italy in the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Lorenzo TOMASSONI, the ambassador of France in the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Graham PAUL and the ambassador of Slovakia in the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Pavel IVAN.
