Excellence in research of the Institute of Zoology - appreciated by ANACEC

On 23 April 2021, the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research (in Romanian – Agenția Națională de Asigurare a Calității în Educație și Cercetare, ANACEC) handed, in a special ceremony, the awards ”Crystal of Quality” in the field of research for 2020.

In accordance with the Regulation of organization and conduct of the National Contest ”Thesis of Excellence of the Year”, eleven doctoral theses of excellence (of Ist, IInd and IIIrd degree) and one thesis of doctor habilitat of excellence were awarded in different fields of science (natural and life sciences; real and technical sciences; socio-human sciences). 

We announce with satisfaction that our colleague, Mr. Dumitru Bulat, head of the Laboratory of Ichthyology and Aquaculture, became the winner of this national competition, being awarded the "Ion Ganea" prize for the thesis of doctor habilitat of excellence "Ichthyofauna of the Republic of Moldova: genesis, current state, trends and improvement measures”, specialty 165.03. Ichthyology.

Also, diplomas of merit were awarded to the scientific advisors of the given thesis - Mr. Marin Usatii, doctor habilitat, university professor, and Mrs. Laurenţia Ungureanu, doctor habilitat, research professor.

It should be noted the Competition Commission has taken into account several criteria during the evaluation of thesis: formulation of the thesis topic, importance and usefulness of the research, originality and novelty, scientific quality, style of expression, use of the bibliography and ethic aspects.
