WORLD SCIENCE DAY FOR PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT: November 10, 2020 - Science for and with society

The World Science Day for Peace and Development, marked every year on 10 November, was established on 2 November 2001, at the 31st session of the UNESCO General Conference, by Resolution 20/31C, in order to highlight the important role of science in society and the need to engage the general public in debates on important contemporary issues relevant to science. World Science Day was celebrated for the first time worldwide on November 10, 2002, under the auspices of UNESCO.

In 2020, the World Science Day for Peace and Development is dedicated to the theme "Science for and with society". This year's Science Day is an additional opportunity to mobilize all social actors around the subject of science for peace and development - from government officials and decision-makers in science and economics to the media, ordinary people, students and pupils. Through the closer relationship of science with society, science becomes accessible to all and expands the knowledge of our remarkable and fragile planet that we gladly call "Our House".

Scientific researchers from the Institute of Zoology mark the World Science Day for Peace and Development 2020 with new scientific papers and inventions made during this year, appreciated with high distinctions at International Salons of Inventions.

The management team of the Institute of Zoology cordially congratulates the research laboratories and researchers of the Institute on the occasion of the World Science Day for Peace and Development 2020 and wishes them health and new achievements!
