On 22-24 November 2023, a major event in the field of environmental education took place in Slănic-Moldova, Romania: the "Environmental education, sport and the use of therapeutic natural resources" forum.
The forum was attended by experts from Romania and the Republic of Moldova, including the Minister of Environment, Water and Forests of Romania Mircea Fechet, who pointed out the importance of cross-border cooperation for environmental protection. Among the experts from the Republic of Moldova were the representatives of the Institute of Zoology – Dr. Calestru Livia, Dr. Burduja Daniela and Crețu Irina – who actively participated in the forum works and presented the core activities of the institute and their importance in the context of the forum theme.
Students and professors from Vasile Alecsandri University from Bacău and three universities from the Republic of Moldova participated in the forum, creating a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences. The participants discussed the importance of environmental education in building a sustainable future. Topics of discussion included strategies and initiatives to promote environmental education. The importance of the partnership with the Republic of Moldova in starting joint projects for environmental protection was also highlighted.
