New book: Parasitofauna, the impact of parasitosis on the common pheasant’s (Phasianus colchicus L.) organism, prophylaxis and treatment

The methodological guide ”Parasitofauna, the impact of parasitosis on the common pheasant’s (Phasianus colchicus L.) organism, prophylaxis and treatment” is elaborated within the projects of the 2020-2023 State Program (project code: 20.80009.7007.12 and 20.80009.7007.02, leaders: academician, university professor Ion Toderaş, doctor habilitat, associate professor Galina Buşmachiu).

Results of own researches and analysis of the specialty literature are presented, being elucidated the parasite fauna and impact of parasitoses on common pheasant’s (Phasianus colchicus L.) organism, with the recommendation of innovative procedures for prophylaxis and treatment.

The paper is intended for specialists from the veterinary sector, hunters and students from the faculties of veterinary medicine, biology, ecology. It will represent an useful source of information in developing measures for diagnosis and reduction of pheasant parasitoses, which ensure survival, increase the reproductive potential of pheasants in natural conditions and reduce the risk of their capture by predators. The recommendations are useful for all natural and anthropogenic biotopes from the Republic of Moldova, where the pheasant is found.
