New book: Parasitofauna, the impact of parasitoses on the main species of hunting importance, prevention and treatment

Monograph „Parasitofauna, the impact of parasitoses on the main species of hunting importance, prevention and treatment”, author – dr. assoc.prof. Stefan Rusu, leading scientific researcher in the Laboratory of Parasitology and Helminthology of the Institute of Zoology, elucidates the level of infestation with parasitic agents of the main species of hunting importance from the Republic of Moldova, the impact of mono- and poly invasions  on the host organism and on the indexes of quality of the animal products, diagnostic methods and innovative procedures for prophylaxis and treatment. Monograph includes a range of research results, which were obtained within the national projects 15.817.02.12F and 20.80009.7007.12.

Book targets both veterinary and animal husbandry specialists, hunters and students of faculties of veterinary medicine, zootechnics, biology, ecology. It can be a useful source of information while developing measures to control the parasitic agents in humans, domestic and wild animals, thus contributing to the ensurance of the survival and enhancement of the reproductive potential of the main species from hunting fauna, and to the lowering of the risk of their capture by predators. 

Monograph, which was published in Romanian, is available in the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, Andrei Lupan Scientific Library and the Republican Agricultural Scientific Library of the State Agrarian University of Moldova.
