Based on the collaboration agreement no.31/26 of 25.01.2021 between the Institute of Zoology and the National Agency for Food Safety (NAFS), between 22 and 26 February 2021, in the premises of the Institute of Zoology, the training of collaborators of the central apparatus of NAFS and the inspectors from state border inspection posts on the determination and identification of the presence of parasites in fish took place.
Training was conducted by researchers from the Laboratory of Parasitology and Helminthology within the Center of Research of Biological Invasions - Ştefan Rusu, PhD, associate professor, head of laboratory, Dumitru Erhan, Dr. habil., professor, principal scientific researcher, Ion Gologan, scientific researcher - who highlighted the importance of knowing the diversity of parasite species and their methods of diagnosis in fish species. The participants were, also, acquainted with the multitude and importance of extrinsic and intrinsic factors, influencing formation and maintenance of parasitic outbreaks in fish, as well as their prophylaxis and treatment measures.
