European Researchers' Night 2022

This year, more exactly on 30 September, the European Researchers' Night was organized in the Republic of Moldova in two main locations – in the park of the Technical University of Moldova (Chisinau municipality) and the square of the Aleco Russo University from Balti.

The Institute of Zoology participated in the event held in the park of the Technical University of Moldova, presenting collections of insects, aquatic molluscs and fossil remains, as well as books - the volumes from the series "Animal World of Moldova", the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova. The visitors, most of them children and young people, had the opportunity to learn interesting things about the life of animals, but also to get familiar with the peculiarities of the researcher's work.

The results of the photo contest "Biodiversity around you", which was judged by the researchers of the Laboratory of Entomology of the Institute of Zoology, were announced publicly also on 30 September. The contest took place between 10 August and 25 September. The 2022 edition of the contest was dedicated to rare insects.
