The work „Methodological guide for fish farmers” is a contribution to the knowledge in the field of aquaculture, aiming at, particularly, ensuring the health of fish raised in ponds in the Prut River basin through sustainable practices of pond management.
The guide was developed within the cross-border project 2 SOFT 1.2./47 „Team up for healthy fish in aquaculture systems of the Prut river basin” - TeamUp HealthyFish and recommended for editing by the Scientific Council of the Institute of Zoology.
The authors of the guide update the methods of rapid diagnosis of cyprinid diseases, suggesting the application of some recent practical recommendations for those interested in improving the conditions of fish ponds, increasing fish production or controlling fish pathology, surveillance of human health, in the evolution of communicable diseases from fish to man, also taking into account the aspect of environmental protection.
The editors of this guide - Elena Zubcov, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, professor, doctor habilitat in biological sciences, and Liviu-Dan Miron, university professor, doctor in biology, corresponding member of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences „Gheorghe Ionescu- Sisești”, Bucharest - thank the authors for the joint effort to go through an interesting stage of ecological diagnosis of water and pathological profile of fish and remain attentive to all suggestions that are welcome from readers.
