Scientific reports for 2021 on the execution of research projects within the State Program 2020-2023 will be presented in the joint online meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Zoology and the Section of Life Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova from 10 December 2021.

On 20 November 2021, within the on-going project 2 SOFT/1.2/47 Team up for healthy fish in aquaculture systems of the Prut river basin – TeamUp HealthyFish (Joint Operational Program Romania-Republic of Moldova 2014-2020 funded by the European Union), an online knowledge transfer training will be organised by the Institute of Zoology in partnership with the Aleco Russo State University from Balti. 

The World Science Day for Peace and Development, marked every year on 10 November, was established on 2 November 2001, at the 31st session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), by Resolution 20/31C, in order to highlight the important role of science in society and the need to engage the general public in debates on important contemporary issues relevant to science. World Science Day was celebrated for the first time worldwide on 10 November 2002, under the auspices of UNESCO.

The volume “Fauna of Collembola (Hexapoda: Collembola) from the Republic of Moldova” includes the results of faunal studies, which have been conducted by doctor habilitat, assistant professor Galina Bușmachiu on the representatives of the class Collembola (Hexapoda) on the territory of the Republic of Moldova during almost 30 years of scientific activity.

The series of festive events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the creation of the first research subdivisions and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Zoology ended on October 8, 2021. The meeting was attended by Corresponding Member of ASM Svetlana Cojocaru, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Coordinator of the Exact and Engineering Sciences Section, who handed out distinctions of the ASM to some employees of the Institute of Zoology.

On 16-17 September 2021, the 10th International Conference of Zoologists "Sustainable use and protection of animal world in the context of climate change" dedicated to the 75th anniversary from the creation of the first research subdivisions and the 60th from the foundation of the Institute of Zoology took place within the Institute of Zoology.

It is official – the implementation period of the project ”Black Sea Basin interdisciplinary cooperation network for sustainable joint monitoring of environmental toxicants migration, improved evaluation of ecological state and human health impact of harmful substances, and public exposure” – MONITOX (code eMS BSB27) ended on Sunday, 19 September 2021.

On 15 September 2021, the Institute of Zoology organizes the international workshop “Monitoring the Dniester and Prut rivers and indicators of the impact of hydropower constructions on the functioning of transboundary aquatic ecosystems” within the project “Creating a system of innovative transboundary monitoring of the Black Sea river ecosystems transformation under impacts of hydropower development and climate change“ - HydroEcoNex (eMS code BSB165). 

Dear colleagues, we kindly invite you to participate in the 10th International Conference of Zoologists Sustainable Use and Protection of Animal World in the Context of Climate Change, dedicated to the 75th anniversary from the creation of the first research subdivisions and the 60th anniversary from the foundation of the Institute of Zoology, which will take place on 16-17 September 2021 within the Institute of Zoology.

Monograph ”Treatise on parasites associated with domestic animals”, author Dumitru Erhan, presents the results of own research and analysis of the literature on the level of infestation with parasitic agents of domestic animals in the Republic of Moldova before and after restructuring in the livestock sector, ways of infestation, influence on the host organism of mono-, polyinvasions and of antiparasitic remedies, their impact on the quality indices of edible products of animal origin and also economic damage caused by the mono- and polyinvasions in animals, metho
