The ending of the cross-border project TeamUp HealthyFish was marked in Iași

The Ion Ionescu de la Brad University of Life Sciences from Iași (IULS), in partnership with the Institute of Zoology, organized a knowledge transfer training within the project 2SOFT/1.2/47 Team up for healthy fish in aquaculture systems of the Prut river basin – TeamUp HealthyFish on 19 May 2022.

This was the last major event held within the project, which brought together in the Green Conference Hall of IULS forty participants – didactic staff and students of IULS, researchers of the Institute of Zoology, fish farmers (Dracșani fish farm) and representatives of the local authorities (Iași Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority). The Institute of Zoology was represented by the members of the TeamUp HealthyFish project implementation team: Corr. Mem. Elena Zubcov, Dr. Nadejda Andreev, Dr. Lucia Bilețchi, Dr. Hab. Dumitru Bulat, Dr. Ștefan Rusu and the young researcher Ion Gologan.

Corr. Mem. Elena Zubcov, the scientific coordinator of the project, has made an extensive communication on the problems faced by fish farmers, the ways to approach these problems and the technologies developed by researchers from the Institute of Zoology in order to increase the resistance of fish.

Univ.Prof. Dr. Liviu-Dan Miron presented some scientific, logistical and financial aspects of the implementation of the project by IULS and concluded that the transfer of knowledge to fish farmers regarding the diagnosis and treatment of fish diseases and also environmental protection in the conditions the application of fish farming practices is the key for reducing fish diseases and increasing productivity. Regarding the partnership between IUSL and the Institute of Zoology, it was mentioned that it was built on the principle of sustainability of results, so that the results of the project are transferable and capitalized in the entrepreneurial environment.

The training also included the demonstration of a video - a retrospective of the most of events organized within the TeamUp HealthyFish project (available at http://teamup-healthyfish.com/a-homepage-section).

In addition to the exchange of knowledge, the training was a great opportunity to publicly disseminate the results of the project, including the publishing of a methodological guide for fish farmers, through the media. Thus, the regional television TeleM Iași and IașiTV Life broadcast reports on the TeamUp HealthyFish project, and the local TV station “Bună Ziua Iași” - an extensive interview with Prof. Liviu-Dan Miron and Corr. Mem. Elena Zubcov.

At the end of the event, the hosts offered flowers to Corr. Mem. Elena Zubcov as gratitude for the effort made for the successful implementation of the TeamUp HealthyFish project and the strengthening of the partnership between the Institute of Zoology and IULS.
